Rhyming C-V-C Series Guide
The Red CVC Series has been reprinted and renamed the Rhyming CVC Series. One of the stories has been rewritten to remove references to the phrase 'bad lad'.
The stories in it use CVC words as rhyming endings to each sentence. However, it is not aimed at Phonic Phase 2 of the government's Letters and Sounds phonic programme.
The series assumes that pupils know almost all of the 'tricky' words of Phonic Phases 2 and 3 and that they can read 2 to 3 sentences per page. It is suitable for children at the end of the Foundation Stage and going into key Stage 1.
